WVT CALLING FEATURES

GET MORE WITH WVTC VOICE SERVICES

  • Also known as Block the Blocker, this feature allows you to block incoming calls that don’t display their Caller IDs.

    • To activate, dial *77.

    • To deactivate, dial *87

  • Call Answer Voicemail is a virtual answering machine that takes any messages from unanswered calls. Unlike traditional answering machines, this takes up no room and is unaffected by power outages. Multiple and announcement-only mailboxes are also available.

    To access your mailbox from the WVT-serviced phone, dial *99:

    • When prompted, enter your PIN then press #.

    • Your temporary password is: 0 0 0 0 (4 zeros).

    To access your mailbox from a different phone:

    • Dial 845-988-0600, 973-764-0600 or 845-956-0600.

    • Enter your 10-digit mailbox number (your 10-digit phone number).

    • Press *. When prompted, enter your PIN and press #.

    RECORD A GREETING

    • Access your voice mailbox.

    • Press 9 for the mailbox setup menu.

    • Press 2 to record your greeting.

    • Record your greeting and then press #.

    • Press * to keep your greeting.

    CHANGE YOUR PIN

    • Access your voice mailbox.

    • Press 9 for mailbox setup menu.

    • Press 2 to change your PIN.

    • Enter your new PIN and then press #.

    • When prompted to verify the PIN, enter it again and then press #.

    RETRIEVE MESSAGES

    • Access your voice mailbox.

    • Your first message may play immediately or press 1 to listen to your messages.

    • Press 2 to listen to saved messages.

    USING VOICEMAIL TO EMAIL

    Voicemails are delivered directly to your email .

    • When you get a voicemail message, you will receive an email from voicemail@mydigitalservices.com delivered to your inbox.

    • Open the attachment and your media player will play the message.

    • If desired, save the attachment on your PC.

    • Follow the links in the message to save or delete the message from the voicemail system.

  • Transfer incoming calls to another telephone number.

    • To activate Call Forwarding, dial *72. After the tone, dial the number to which you’re forwarding your calls (long distance charges apply). When that call is answered, Call Forwarding is active. If there’s no answer, repeat this procedure within two minutes. Two tones confirm that Call Forwarding is activated. (Note: If you always forward calls to the same number, we can pre-program that number for you.

    • While Call Forwarding is active, you can make outgoing calls, but you can’t answer incoming calls.

    • To deactivate Call Forwarding, dial *73. A tone confirms that Call Forwarding is off.

  • Transfer calls to Call Answering or another number when the line is busy.

    • To activate, dial *90. After the tone, dial the number to which you’re forwarding your calls (long distance charges apply). A tone confirms activation.

    • To deactivate Call Forward Busy, dial *91. A tone confirms deactivation

  • Transfer unanswered calls to Call Answer Voicemail or another number.

    • To activate Call Forward No Answer, dial *92. After the tone, dial the number to which you’re forwarding your calls (long distance charges apply). A tone confirms activation.

    • To deactivate Call Forward No Answer, dial *93. A tone confirms deactivation.

  • Call Trace is already on your line and traces the last call received. All information is channeled through the Police. A per-use charge applies.

    Hang up after receiving an annoying call.

    • Dial *57.

    • Listen for an announcement.

    • Contact your local police.

    • The system will trace the last call received. If you receive another call or Call Waiting beep before you activate Call Trace, you will trace that call.

  • Call Waiting alerts you if you’re on a call and another caller is trying to reach you. This will keep you from missing important calls because of busy signals!

    • While you’re on a call, a “beep” alerts you that a second call is waiting. (If unanswered, the beep repeats after 10 seconds. The second caller hears ringing.)

    • To answer the second call, press the switch hook (flash) for one second. The first call goes on hold.

    • To alternate between calls, press the switch hook for one second.

    • A third caller will get a busy signal.

    • If you hang up while the second caller is on the line, your phone will ring.

    • To deactivate Call Waiting before making a call, dial *70. After two tones, dial the phone number.

    • To deactivate Call Waiting during a call, press the switch hook for one second (the call goes on hold). Dial *70. After two tones, your call will be restored.

    • Call Waiting is restored when you hang up.

  • Effortlessly conference in an additional call while already on a call.

    • Get a Call Waiting beep, and go right into a three-way call.

    • No need to disconnect the second caller and call them back.

    • Call Waiting and Three-Way Calling features are needed.

  • Caller ID displays a caller’s name and phone number, if available. This requires a display unit or display phone is needed.

  • Item Caller ID with Call Waiting gives you Caller ID info on the “interrupting” call when Call Waiting beeps, not just on the first call. You must also subscribe to Call Waiting and have a Caller ID/Call Waiting compatible phone for this service to work.

  • Select to show or hide your information on one or all of your outgoing calls. Call blocking is available:

    PER CALL BLOCK

    • This free service is already on your phone.

    • To restrict display of your name and number on a per call basis, before making your call, dial *67.

    • Three short tones confirm that Per Call Block is activated.

    ALL CALL BLOCK

    • (NY Customers Only)

      • This free service prevents name and number from appearing on all calls. “Private” or “Anonymous Call” will display to the called party.

      • To temporarily bypass All Call Block and display your information for a single call, dial *82.

    • (NJ Customers Only)

      • Available ONLY to non-published customers and certain specialized agencies.

      • This free service prevents name and number from appearing on all calls. “Private” or “Anonymous Call” will display to the called party.

      • To temporarily bypass All Call Block and display your information for a single call, dial *82.

  • Use the ability to transfer calls outside of your system

    • Press the switch hook (flash), link or transfer button.

    • Dial the number to which you wish to transfer the call.

    • Press the switch hook (flash), link or transfer button again, and the call will be transferred.

  • Distinctive Ring is a second phone number that rings on your existing phone line with a double ring to let you know that the Distinctive Ring number is being called. Call Waiting and Call Forwarding are also available with this feature.

    With Call Waiting, the Distinctive Ring number has a double beep.

    With Call Forwarding, advise us if you’ll be Call Forwarding both numbers or just your main number. The forwarded-to number has a normal ring. Follow the usual procedure for Call Forward

  • Manage multiple lines with distinct ringtones on a single phone! This will allow you to answer business calls at home without giving out your home number.

    • Great for home offices and telecommuters.

    • If the call is put on hold, you can pick it up on either line.

    • A special ring tone identifies those calls so they can be answered appropriately.

    • A per-use charge applies.

  • Blocking calls from 700 and 900 numbers is available. There is no charge to initiate call blocking for the first time, and there are no monthly fees.

  • Repeat Call is already on your line and allows you simply redial the previous number you dialed and save you time!

    • Dial *66 to redial the last number you called.

    • When the line becomes free, your phone will ring. Pick up the handset and the call will be completed.

    • To deactivate, dial *86. An announcement indicates that Repeat Call is deactivated.

    • Repeat Call will attempt to place the call for 30 minutes.

    • If you don’t pick up, the special ring will repeat every 5 minutes.

    • You may make and receive calls while Repeat Call is activated.

  • Return Call is already on your line and provides a verbal message that details the last number that called, and the call’s date and time. A per-use charge applies.

    • Dial *69.

    • To call that party, press “1.” If the called party is not busy, then the call will complete. If the called party is busy, then hang up. You will hear a special ring when the line becomes available. Lift the receiver and wait for the called party to answer.

    • To deactivate, dial *89. An announcement indicates that Return Call is deactivated.

    • Return Call returns the last call received whether answered or not.

    • Return Call attempts to place the call for 30 minutes.

    • If you don’t pick up, then the special ring will repeat every 5 minutes if the line remains free.

    • You may make and receive calls while Return Call is activated.

  • Program eight phone numbers for convenient single-digit dialing.

    SET UP:

    • Dial *74 and the access number (choose a number from 2-9).

    • Dial the phone number you want to Speed Call, then #.

    • A tone confirms that Speed Calling is programmed. Repeat this process for all eight numbers you want to Speed Call.

  • Program 30 phone numbers for convenient double-digit dialing.

    SET UP:

    • Dial *75 and the access number (choose a number from 20-49).

    • Dial the phone number you want to Speed Call, then #.

    • A tone confirms that Speed Calling is programmed. Repeat this process for all 30 numbers you want to Speed Call.

    • To Speed Call a number, dial the access number and #.

  • Have a three-way conversation so you can avoid numerous callbacks and firm up your plans all at once.

    • To put the first call on hold, press the switch hook (flash) for one second. When you hear dial tone, dial the third number.

    • To put your Three-Way Call into effect, press the switch hook (flash) for one second.

    • If the third person doesn’t answer, press the switch hook twice to go back to the first call.

  • Require the use of a personal identification number to complete directly-dialed long-distance calls to your number. Any calls from the restricted phone without the PIN will be blocked.
