Call Forwarding

How it works:
  • To activate Call Forwarding, dial *72. After the tone, dial the number to which you’re forwarding your calls (long distance charges apply). When that call is answered, Call Forwarding is active. If there’s no answer, repeat this procedure within two minutes. Two tones confirm that Call Forwarding is activated. (Note: If you always forward calls to the same number, we can pre-program that number for you.)
  • While Call Forwarding is active, you can make outgoing calls, but you can’t answer incoming calls.
  • To deactivate Call Forwarding, dial *73. A tone confirms that Call Forwarding is off.

Call Forward Busy

How it works:
  • To activate, dial *90. After the tone, dial the number to which you’re forwarding your calls (long distance charges apply). A tone confirms activation.
  • To deactivate Call Forward Busy, dial *91. A tone confirms deactivation.

Call Forward No Answer

  • All information is channeled through the Police.
  • A per-use charge applies.
  • Hang up after receiving an annoying call.
  • Dial *57.
  • Listen for an announcement.
  • Contact your local Police.
  • The system will trace the last call received. If you receive another call or Call Waiting beep before you activate Call Trace, you will trace that call.

Call Waiting

How it works:
  • While you’re on a call, a “beep” alerts you that a second call is waiting. (If unanswered, the beep repeats after 10 seconds. The second caller hears ringing.)
  • To answer the second call, press the switch hook (flash) for one second. The first call goes on hold.
  • To alternate between calls, press the switch hook for one second.
  • A third caller will get a busy signal.

  • To deactivate Call Waiting before making a call, dial *70. After two tones, dial the phone number.
  • To deactivate Call Waiting during a call, press the switch hook for one second (the call goes on hold). Dial *70. After two tones, your call will be restored.
  • Call Waiting is restored when you hang up.

Call Waiting Conference

How it works:
  • Get a Call Waiting beep, and go right into a three-way call.
  • No need to disconnect the second caller and call them back.
  • Call Waiting and Three Way Calling features are needed.

Caller ID

A display unit or display phone is needed. Both are available for lease or purchase from WVT.

Caller ID With Call Waiting

Through Caller ID With Call Waiting, you’ll receive Caller ID info on the “interrupting” call when Call Waiting beeps, not just on the first call. You must also subscribe to Call Waiting and have a Caller ID/Call Waiting compatible phone for this service to work.

Caller ID Blocking

Your name and number will be displayed to the party you are calling, even if your number is unlisted. Call blocking is available.

Per Call Block
This free service is already on your phone.
To restrict the display of your name and number on a per call basis before making your call, dial *67. Three short tones confirm that Per Call Block is activated.

All Call Block (NY Customers Only)
This free service prevents your name and number from appearing on all calls. “Private” or “Anonymous Call” will be displayed to the called party.

To unblock All Call Block, dial *82. Your name and number will be displayed for that call only. (NJ Customers Only)

  • Available ONLY to non-published customers and certain specialized agencies, such as battered women’s shelters and rape crisis centers.
  • To unblock Per Line Block, dial *82. Your name and number will be displayed on the called party’s display set for that call only.

Distinctive Ring

Distinguish the kids’ calls from yours. Separate faxes from regular calls. Distinctive Ring is a second phone number that rings on your existing phone line. A double ring lets you know that the Distinctive Ring number is being called.

With Call Waiting, the Distinctive Ring number has a double beep.

With Call Forwarding, advise us if you’ll be Call Forwarding both numbers or just your main number. The forwarded-to number has a normal ring. Follow the usual procedure for Call Forward.

Dual Line Call Management

How it works: Calls ring on two lines at once.
  • Great for home offices and telecommuters.
  • If the call is put on hold, you can pick it up on either line.
  • A special ring tone identifies those calls so they can be answered appropriately.
  • A per-use charge applies.

900 Blocking

Blocking of calls to 700 and 900 numbers is available. There is no charge to initiate call blocking for the first time, and there are no monthly charges.

Repeat Call *66

How it works:
  • Dial *66 to redial the last number you called.
  • When the line becomes free, your phone will ring. Pick up the handset and the call will be completed.
  • To deactivate, dial *86. An announcement indicates that Repeat Call is deactivated.
  • Repeat Call will attempt to place the call for 30 minutes.
  • If you don’t pick up, the special ring will repeat every 5 minutes.
  • You may make and receive calls while Repeat Call is activated.

Return Call *69

How it works:
  • Dial *69.
  • To call that party, press “1.” If the called party is not busy, then the call will complete. If the called party is busy, then hang up. You will hear a special ring when the line becomes available. Lift the receiver and wait for the called party to answer.
  • To deactivate, dial *89. An announcement indicates that Return Call is deactivated.
  • Return Call returns the last call received whether answered or not.
  • Return Call attempts to place the call for 30 minutes.
  • If you don’t pick up, then the special ring will repeat every 5 minutes if the line remains free.
  • You may make and receive calls while Return Call is activated.

  • To put the first call on hold, press the switch hook (flash) for one second. When you hear dial tone, dial the third number.
  • To put your Three-Way Call into effect, press the switch hook (flash) for one second.
  • If the third person doesn’t answer, press the switch hook twice to go back to the first call.

Toll Control

This prevents the completion of directly-dialed long distance calls by using a personal identification number. Long distance calls from the restricted phone without the PIN will be blocked.

Call Transfer

How it works:
  • Press the switch hook (flash), link or transfer button.
  • Dial the number to which you wish to transfer the call.
